INTRODUCTION

This book is not for everyone. This book is for those seeking to live a more positive and fulfilling life, those looking for meaning and joy in everything they do, and those who never want to ask themselves if they could or should have. If you are reading this, I would like to thank you for your time and focus. I hope you enjoy diving into this story and learning about the truths I have found on my path to figuring out life and its purpose – a path that leads to further discovery every day.

This book intends to describe my beliefs, my vision, and my strategy for living a meaningful and fulfilling life. I believe that to do so, one must answer a set of questions: Do you have a vision of who you want to be? What are your ideals? What are your unique traits? Who are your heroes? How do you deal with adversity? Having vague answers to these questions leads to confusion and will leave you unable to take ownership of your desires, aspirations, and ultimately, your life.

The principles set out in this book have worked for me, and my purpose would be complete if these words served to help another soul to find itself.

Definition: Positive Focus

positive adjective /ˈpɒz.ə.tɪv/ He is making desirable actions for the community.

focus noun /ˈfəʊ.kəs/ The main point of interest at the fashion show was Christiana Demay’s sublime evening wear.

Positive Focus is a term I created to describe my philosophy and my way of life. Whether in my personal life or at work, I navigate situations with the same attitude. Being positive means acting and moving confidently, while being focused involves turning yourself and all of your energy towards the object(s) of your aspiration. A synonym of Positive Focus could be “Goal”, but with a higher spiritual dimension.

Positive Focus

“Confidently turning your entire being and energy towards your aspirations to seek elevation and growth.”

For a Meaningful Growth

Gnothi Seauton comes from the ancient Greek term “Know thyself”, meaning “Know Yourself”. The Greek philosopher Plato used the term to refer to one’s true understanding of themself. We also find similar principles in other cultures; the Buddhists call it “Moksha”, meaning liberation, emancipation, and release.

Our meaning of “Know thyself” is in the understanding that everything starts with you and ends with you. This is your life, nobody else’s. Therefore, if you want to be the person you always envisioned, you must start by digging deep within to build the strong foundations that will allow you to remain resolute in the face of opposition. In this journey of self-reflection and self-analysis, you will discover that you are in control and always have been.

Freedom starts by knowing yourself and getting back your free will, the one you had when you were little and were not yet chained to social norms. We’ve all heard friends, family members or colleagues commenting that “Most people waste their lives living someone else’s dream,” but are you honest enough to face your dreams and reach for them? Are you willing to go through the muddy path of introspection and listen to your inner voice? Not the one that says, “NO, I CAN’T”, but rather the one that says, “YES, I CAN!”
